Arrived about 16:00 after about 260 miles. Filled up with diesel in Luxembourg at the cost of €1.18 per litre. Weathering better so we went for a run. Metz is a very pretty town so going to explore the restaurants

To Bergues
First leg of the journey done arrived 7pm French time.
Eurotunnel was as simple as ever, arrived early and had choice of earlier times at no extra cost so we took the 15:50.
Smallish campsite surrounded by HGVs from a travelling circus. A little worried that the site was full. However no problem. Warden only speaks French so a good chance to practice. A little unsure of her instructions to turn the motorhome around and park on the road.
Stats:
Mileage: 270
Travel time: 5 hours
Weather: grey, some light showers 10’C

Lunch with the Girls
We had a lovely time at the Bear’s Paw in Warmingham today. Laura, Caroline and Lesley were all in top form and great company. Unfortunately the organiser (Sam) was poorly so couldn’t come. Sorry Sam but you missed a great time, good company and lovely food.
Caroline was experimenting with her works camera in preparation for her trip to Poland next wek so I have included a few of her photos.
Congleton Parkrun
Another PB for Lesley
After both running well the night before we decided to get up early and run the Congleton Parkrun. Beautiful weather for a change but I knew as I warmed up that I hadn’t recovered from the race the night before and Lesley had tired legs. Charlie was there again and had made some sort of promise to drag Terry around in a fast time. I could tell that Charlie was hot on my tail again all the way round the first of the three laps but didn’t really expect Terry to come flying past not long after the start of the second lap. I tried to keep up with him but knew I was running on empty and it wasn’t long before a tired Charlie came past too. The last lap was a painful mile as I was completely exhausted. Not long after I finished Lesley finished in the second pb in two days, this time finishing in 24:31, 24 seconds quicker than yesterday’s pb. Charlie finished in 21:03 and I finished in 21:29, both of us a lot slower than the night before. Terry ran 20:44 beating his 2013 target.
Dunham Massey 5k
After a cold, wet and windy day the evening was not looking too promising so we felt some relief when the rain held off for the warm up and race. The race is two and a bit laps with a net gain in height, so not a pb course. Lesley didn’t realise this and so ran 24:55 to dip under 25 minutes for the first time. South Cheshire Harriers’ Charity Curry night
As part of this year’s fund raising 42 people dined at the Indian Heaven in Alsager. The owner, Salek gave us £7 for each diner so we raised a total of £294 for SADS just for enjoying ourselves.
Run in the Cheshire country side
It feels like it’s been a while since the weather has made running around the Cheshire countryside such a pleasure.
