Our first time staying here, (23 to 27 September 2024)
The journey from home to Anglesey is very straight forward with a good network of roads and at just over 50 miles is easily achieved in a couple of hours. The weather (including the forecast) is cooler than usual with predictions for rain. Although a grey start, we’re optimistic that it will not dampen our enjoyment.
Our hosts, Glen and Mandy are very friendly and have rennovated the barns to a high standard and gone out of their way to include all the possible amenities you could need. Based behind the accommodation blocks for the Valley RAF staff, it’s a little off the beated track with footpaths that lead to Rhosneigr in the South and Llyn Traffwll to the North. Llyn Traffwll is part of Valley Wetlands Nature Reserve. The whole area is inundated with various species of birds (a twitcher’s paradise), of all sizes. So far we’ve seen Heron, (100s of) geese, Chuffs, (and I’m ashamed to say), lots of pretty small birds that I can’t name.

Lesley had contacted the hosts to ask if there was somewhere to keep our bikes, we didn’t need to worry as one of the many barns was a perfect spot with easy access to electricity for charging the bikes.
