Monday 10th June
We landed in Igoumenitsa about 11.30.am (2 hours late) after a smooth, comforatble crossing. We got on our way to Vassiliki, making a stop for fuel in Preveza and a quick shop at Lidl in Lefkada. We arrived in Vass about 3pm, unloaded the van into the apartment, unpacked a few bits and then went to the Cosmos Hotel to say hello to Stelios. He was a bit busy with the welcome meeting so we didn’t have chance to chat. We did see Barry & Gill and Mel, Dawn & Jake though and had quick catchups with them.I don’t think we had seen Mel, Dawn & Jake since 2017! We went to The Wave for Greek Salad and Chicken Souvlaki as we usually do on the day we arrive!
Tuesday 11th June
I finished unpacking whilst Mel set up the bikes and paddle boards. We walked into town and had a frappe at Livinaki’s and then went to the butcher to get some mincemeat, chicken, sausage & Feta cheese. After lunch we went to the Cosmos and Mel set up some kit and then we called at the Euromarket for some supplies. We had sausage for tea and spoke to Laura, Ella & William.

Wednesday 12th June
I went for my first run this year in Vass, the usual ‘P’ route in the olive groves (7.5 km) at 7am and Mel went for a bike ride to Agios Petros and Nikolis. It was very warm and cloudy, not typical Vass weather. We went to the Cosmos Hotel in the afternoon and Mel set up some more kit but after a drink we went back to the apartment as there no wind for going on the water.

Thursday 13th June
We went for a bike ride to Sivros and had a frappe at Verani in the square. It was very busy and we had to wait a while. It was another cloudy, humid day and no wind in the afternoon. We went to Cosmos Hotel but after a drink we went shopping at Nikos supermarket. It was extremely windy during the night.

Friday 14th June
We were going to paddle board this morning but it was too windy so we didn’t bother. I went to buy my 10class pass at Healthy Options and then we walked into town. It was cool at Livinaki’s as the wind was blowing there. We had a Whatsapp call with Caroline and Minnie and then Mel did some more work on photos. We went on the paddle boards to the Cosmos Hotel in the morning. The sea was smooth and the sun was shining so we enjoyed the trip. We had a cup of tea at the Cosmos before returning back to the apartment. We went into town for a frappe and pastry and then it got really windy again in the afternoon. No windsurfing or wing foiling today.
Monday 17th June
I went for a run (8km) and Mel went for a bike ride to Agios Petros and Sivros. It was cloudy again this morning and a bit cool, not settled down yet. Mel met Mel & Stewart at Sivros and then joined them for the rest of their ride, some off-road. He lost his battery cover (again!) somewhere on the route but he did find it a couple of days later.
In the afternoon Mel did some wingfoiling and windsurfing. I walked home and Mel came back about 8pm!

Friday 21st June
We had a lie in and then walked into town for a frappe. Very hot again and Mel’s knee really hurting. We went to Cosmos in the afternoon but there was no wind so we had a walk in the sea to cool off. We came back via the deserted village and Mel explored the last part of the route over the stream and past the Swiss House. Mel and Dawn are leaving today (but coming back in two weeks) and Mel came to get his van from Stelios.
Monday 24th June
I went to Pilates with Leah at Healthy Options in the morning and then we tried The Loop cafe on the beach for a frappe. Mel took his wingfoil to Will Graham (behind what used to be Ocean Elements) to be repaired. Later he went windsurfing. Caroline, Ashley and Minnie have arrived in the UK today. They have rented an apartment again in Chester but we won’t see them thi time.

We went to The Old Plane Tree in the evening, I had moussaka and Mel had meatballs, all very nice.
Friday 28th June
We had to go to the Health Centre this morning as Mel’s tooth abscess had returned and was very painful. He got a presciption for antibiotics which we then got from the pharmacy. We went to the Rosalia cafe for a frappe and then i went shopping whilst Mel walked back to the apartment. It was very windy all day, too windy for Mel to go out. We spoke to Laura in the evening as she was picking up William and Layla from gymnastics.
