We arrived in Igoumenitsa by ferry at about 11am on Monday 9th June. After disembarking we stopped for some fuel and then drove to Lefkada where we planned to shop at Lidl but it was closed. So we stopped for a frappe on the way out of Lefkada (1 Euro each!) and carried on to Vass calling at Nikos supermarket instead. We arrived at the Cosmos apartments about 2.30.pm, unloaded and unpacked and the went along to the Cosmos Hotel. We said hello to Stelios and Dawn, Mel and Jake and had a drink with them; Stuart and Lucy were there too. Afterwards we went to The Wave for Greek salad and chicken souvlaki as usual! We had a fairly early night after a tiring few days but the air con unit in the bedroom decided to leak water on us in bed! We switched it off and messaged Stelios to ask him to get it fixed.

I went for a run on Tuesday morning in the olive groves (the ‘P’ route – 7.5k) whilst Mel unloaded the bikes and set them up. We did some shopping at the Euromarket and then Mel went to the Cosmos to start setting his sails up. I went to buy my 10 class pass from Healthy Options. Nikos came to fix the air con after lunch and then we went to the Cosmos and Mel finished setting his kit up. It was very hot for this early in June and we hadn’t adjusted to it yet so we were a bit tired. Mel did a bit of wingfoiling and then we came back to the apartment for an omelette and an early night (and no leaking air con unit!)

On Wednesday I went to my first flow Yoga session with Alex at Healthy Options. After doing some washing we walked towards town and met Mel & Dawn at the ‘4 winds’ bar and joined them for a frappe. It was Dawn’s birthday today which we didn’t realise. We carried on into town to buy some beach shoes and on our way back met Pat & Ian on their bikes. They have driven here in a car having sold their motor home and now staying at Heliotrope next to the Euromarket. They told us that Clive had died during the winter which we were very sad to hear but that Jean was in Vass on her own. In the afternoon we went to Cosmos and Mel did some wingfoiling.
On Thursday we did our first bike ride to Sivros and had a frappe at Verani. We met Chris from Sivota Bay and had a chat to him and then we cycled back down the monastery road. We called at Nikos supermarket on the way back. We went to Cosmos as usual later on and Ralf and Claudia joined us for a drink. There was no wind so we stayed and chatted with them until after 6pm.

We did our first paddle boarding on Friday to Cosmos and back and then we cycled into town for a frappe at Livinakis. We met Horst, Gabby and Peter and sat and chatted with them. On our way back we met Cora who we had had Greek lessons with a few years ago. We then went to the butchers and back for lunch. Mel did some more wingfoiling in the afternoon.
On Saturday 14th June we did a bike ride to Agios Petros and came back via the deserted village. In the afternoon Mel was supposed to have a lesson with Max but it wasn’t windy enough so it didn’t happen. He went out with his 6m wing instead. In the evening we went up to Bazanaki’s for a very nice meal with fantastic views as usual.

On Sunday I went for a run to Agio Fili beach (well to the closed gates to the car park) and Mel had a rest. Afterwards we went to The Bar for a frappe and met Ralf and Claudia. Several new guests had arrived at The Cosmos including Paula & Simon and Michelle & Garth (who we haven’t seen for a few years).
I did my second Yoga Flow session with Alex on Monday morning and Mel went for a bike ride. In the afternoon Mel went out for a short wing session and then he and Mel reorganised the cage at the Cosmos.
We went for a bike ride with Ralf and Claudia on Tuesday to Agios Petros and back through the deserted village.

On Wednesday we went on the paddle boards to Cosmos and then I went to Flow Yoga. The wind came in late in the afternoon and Mel was wingfoiling until about 7.30.pm

On Thursday 19th June we went on a bike ride to Athani and stopped at a very nice restaurant for a frappe -Ionio. We had not stopped there before but is has lovely views and we met Horst and Gabi there too.

We came back down the scar road which is now fully tarmaced and busy with lots of people going to Porto Katsiki beach that way.

We had a meal at the Cosmos in the evening- chicken gyros and chips after another wingfoiling session.
On Friday I went for a run (6.5k) and Mel went for a bike ride with Mel and Jake. More wingfoiling pm. Saturday was another bike ride for us to Sivros and we called in at the bakery on the way back to say hello to Staffi.

In the afternoon Mel had a wingfoil lesson with Max Rowe. Mel was very tired on Sunday after his lesson so we did some shopping at Nikos supermarket and then went to the 4 Winds cafe for breakfast/lunch which was very nice. Yet more wingfoiling pm and then we sat and chatted at the Cosmos with Mel and Dawn.

I went to Yoga on Monday 23rd and Mel went for a short run. Later he went to see Max to pay for his lesson (120 Euros) and get the drone footage. In the afternoon Mel went wingfoiling to practise what he had learnt with Max. Charlie and Anne arrived today and were immediately out on the water. We walked to the Serani restaurant (changed its name for Aeriko) and I had seafood pasta and Mel had spaghetti bolognese. Mel was in alot of pain and could hardly walk even that far.
On Tuesday we met Ralf and Claudia at 8am and went for a bike ride to Sivros. We carried on up to the Kerasia water falls and then came back for frappe and orange pie at Verani. Dawn and Mel left today but they will be back in three weeks so we will see them again before we leave. Mel did some windsurfing in the afternoon for the first time this year.

Yoga with Alex for me on Wednesday followed by a frappe and club sandwich at Le Bar. After a rest we went to Cosmos and Mel wingfoiled but unfortunately put a hole in his wing. He got in touch with Mark who has done repairs for him before and arranged to meet him in Lefkada on Thursday morning. After a 5k run for me we went to Lefkada the next morning and dropped the wings of at the yacht repair place and then did some shopping at Lidl. By the time we had finished shopping Mark rang to say the wings were ready so we went to collect them (44 Euros) and then left. It was very hot and busy in Lefkada and nowhere to park so we stopped at the cafe on the way back where we had stopped on the day we arrived. Two frappes – two Euros! Mel wingfoiled in the afternoon and then we went to Verani in Sivros in the evening where we met Ralf & Claudia and another Ralf from Germany. It was the Greek music night which we enjoyed a lot and also the food is excellent. Mel had pork kebabs and I had stuffed pork.

Ralf and Claudia left on Friday 27th, we had a drink with them at The Bar and then said goodbye. We have enjoyed the time we have spent with them this trip and hopefully will see them again next year. More wingfoiling for Mel in the afternoon.
We went on another bike ride to Sivros on Saturday, stopped for a frappe and cycled back into town. Another frappe for Mel and fresh orange for me followed by a quick stop at the butchers. Mel had another lesson with Max in the afternoon but there wasn’t really enough wind.

We paddle boarded to Cosmos on Sunday but Mel’s knee was painful so we didn’t stay out for long. The sea was a bit choppy so the twisting on the board probably didn’t help. In the afternoon we went o Cosmos and Adam, SJ, Bo & Summer had arrived, also Helen, Stephen and Isobel. There was no wind so an early finish followed by a meal at Bazanaki’s.
On Monday 30th I went to Yoga with Alex and then we cycled into town and had breakfast at The Vass Bar. We saw Jan and Philip on the way back, Jan just here for a week as Yvette having treatment for cancer at home. We did some shopping on the way back and then wingfoiling and windsurfing in the afternoon. No lesson again with Max as the wind wasn’t good enough.
