Today we caught the 9.20. am train from Pickering station to Whitby. It was pulled by a steam engine as far as Grosmont and then a diesel engine took over.
When we arrived in Whitby the sun came out and after a quick coffee stop we walked up the 199 steps to the Abbey.
When we came back to the town centre we found the Magpie Cafe and had fish and chips.
We caught the 2.10.pm train back to Pickering, steam all the way!
