We had a great evening with the Hattons, Dydes, Jones’ and Mr Walker. Note to self: “We should do this more often”

A good turn out from South Cheshire Harriers today. 13 runners getting their speed work in for the week with many still recovering from the London marathon. Lesley knocked a massive 44 seconds off her 5k time and I set a new course record for my age group by over a minute. Continue reading “Congleton Parkrun”
Clayton 10k
After a cold and wet day today we were not looking forward to this race, however the rain stopped and there was a little sunshine if not very warm. Neither of us were able to match our time at Market Drayton but Lesley did win her age group. Continue reading “Clayton 10k”
Market Drayton 10k
Sunday 12 May 2013 the weather forecast was for heavy rain so we weren’t very keen to run this, however we were lucky and although cool the weather stayed dry until we were on our way home.

Lesley’s London Marathon
On Sunday 21st April 2013 I ran my first marathon – the Virgin London Marathon (VLM). We has spent December and January in Spain in the motor home and training conditions were excellent – warm, dry and sunny every day and lots of varied running around La Manga on the Costa Calida. In February we went to the French Alps to ski and I did no running for the whole month. So when we came back to the UK I had to work hard to get the training back on track before I started tapering three weeks before the marathon. The weather was cold and wet, not what we had hoped to come back to in the spring. Continue reading “Lesley’s London Marathon”

London Marathon
Lesley ran her first marathon today, soaking up the fantastic (and noisy) atmosphere. After a disciplined but varied training schedule (no running for a month while we were in the French Alps) Lesley completed the tough race and raised £100s for SADS
Newcastle 10k
Cold but sunny day. This is a hilly but enjoyable course. This year is the first time it’s been run as a 10k (used to be 7 miles) and I think the finish along an old railway track is much better. Continue reading “Newcastle 10k”
Chester Spring 5
A cold night so wearing two vest and gloves. Usually a fast course but a bit slower than last year in 34:03
