On a cold grey day (29 November 2025) we drove to Liverpool Airport, leaving home about 10am. We left the car at the Meet and Greet and walked into the terminal building. We were able to check in straight away but Mel’s wingfoil bag weighed over 32kg so he had to take the wheels and helmet out. We then took it to the oversized baggage drop where he sneaked them back in! We went through security smoothly and then relaxed and had a toastie and coffee at Starbucks before boarding our flight. We were kept upto date with the flight details by Richard!

We were seated in the row infront of the extra leg room row and since there was no one sat there we were able to move into those seats. Result! We had a comfortable flight, had some drinks and food and arrived on time at Fuertaventura airport. There was a bit of a delay getting through passport control as the automatic booths didn’t seem to be working. They had to do the checking manually and by the time we got though our bags were already there. Mel’s wingfoil bag had also arrived too. Then we had a bit of a queue to get the hire car from Autoreisen and then to find the car in the car park! Eventually we got on our way to Villaverde.
I messaged Carmen to say we were on our way to Casa Mimar and she met us there when we arrived at about 9pm. We got the keys from her, unloaded the bags and went to the Cafeteria Abuela Maria just up the road for something to eat. We had a very nice lasagne and a couple of beers for 25 Euros. We went back to the apartment and straight to bed.
