Having retired we are busy pursuing the things we enjoy
On the ferry. Very quick and easy and no problems after the recent Greek strike. They didn’t bother about the length of the car or the height so that was good. In fact, because we are too big for the car bay they have put us in front of all the lorries and it looks like we could be first off.
It’s lovely to have a cabin and a window, wifi in the room and our own shower facilities – we didn’t have that when we stayed in the motorhome!
We decided to have an afternoon walk up our largest local mountain, La Fuente. Previous attempts have turned out to be long and rambling walks or runs as we have never managed to take the direct route. A beautiful sunset to finish the day.
After a cold night it was still cool when we went for our run this morning, but, with beautiful blue skies and a few extra bits of clothing we both enjoyed our runs.
For the first time in 3 weeks, it looked like it might be windy and there were a lot of us hovering in anticipation. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as windy as we had hoped for but I got a bit done using my 7.5m² sail.
I seem to be spending more time taking pictures than windsurfing at the moment. These pictures are actually 6 pictures, each at a different exposure which are then merged to create a photo with High Dynamic Range.
Today I signed up for the Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop package. At £8.57 per month, I should get good value for money and improved photos plus the fun of learning how to use them properly. Here’s hoping.
Windy enough to go sailing but needed big kit Used my 8.5 and put the largest fin on the Mistral Screamer 116. Not ideal but had an OK session. 2nd time out in 18 days. Very busy on the beach.
Well that’s the first week, always a busy week getting setup. It flies by.
The first bike ride this trip. Apart from sore bums, necks and wrists, it was very enjoyable and a good chance to remind ourselves of some of the local geography. 31k done in all with a coffee stop at about 27k (Los Nietos). Dos Café con Leche grandes for a mere €2.20 – it must cost that much just for the contents.
Lesley’s gears have always been a bit clunky and sometimes slip. I missed out on all things to do with bikes as a youngster, I seemed to get into motorbikes and cars from an early age but never learned the basics with bikes. With a bit of research on youtube I made a start, I didn’t expect to still be at it several hours later, but, I feel I now have a good understanding of how they work and Lesley reckons they feel the best they have ever been!
